  • The source on every record
  • Nothing published unread
  • Contact details never public

The list

A list people can search

  • Search that forgives spelling

Names in four parts, matched across the common ways of writing them.

  • Filters

By town, status, year and gender.

  • The source of each record

An organisation, the family, the press or an official body, with its link.

  • Statuses you name

Missing, returned, fate confirmed, or your own. A case is closed on the same record.

  • Reports from families

A public form with a captcha; a report appears only after a person approves it.

  • Private tips

A visitor can send what he knows; only staff you allow read it.

Privacy

Care built in

  • Photos only with consent

A photo is shown when the family's consent is on record.

  • Reporter details stay hidden

The name, phone and email of whoever reported are never public.

  • No public comments

What visitors know reaches your staff, not the page.

  • Open, or for members

Leave the list open to all, or show it only to signed-in members.

How it works

From a report to a published record

  1. You set it up

Keep or rename the statuses, add your sources, and choose whether reports and tips are accepted.

  2. A family reports

Or your staff enter the record; visitors search the list and send tips.

  3. A person decides

Each report is approved, or declined with a reason; tips go only to the staff you allow.

Questions

Does it come with a list of names?

No. You add the records, from families and organisations you trust, and each shows where it came from.

Is a family's phone number published?

No. The reporter's contact details never reach the public page.

Is a report published at once?

No. A person reads every report first.

Can anyone see the list?

By default yes; you can show it to signed-in members only.
