UniSoftCo writes the platform this site runs on.

It began as one company's own sites and became a product because the same problems kept arriving in a different order: a newsroom that also sells something, a directory that also has to keep books, a company with four sites and four panels to learn.

How it is built

From the ground up, and deliberately. The engine knows nothing about any addon — a page holds a component by name rather than by a link into a table — which is why a shop can be added to a running news site without touching the news, and why nothing about the shape of the program prevents the next thing being added.

That is not an intention; it is checked. The program asks eight structural questions of itself before every release, and one of them exists only to guard that rule, because the line that breaks it compiles, serves every page, and is invisible ever after.

What we will not do

  • Show you a number the program cannot stand behind. Where an honest answer is not available the screen says so instead of guessing.
  • Keep your data where you cannot get it out.
  • Delete something because a subscription lapsed, without warning you first and letting you take it with you.

See it running before you decide

Every screen on this site is a screen of the program itself.
