The Five Designs
UniSoftCoA newspaper, a shop, a magazine, a corporate site, and one of our own that draws everything.
A design is not a colour scheme. It decides which components can be drawn at all, so choosing one is a decision about what the section is for.
What each is for
sinmun is a newspaper: ten arrangements of a news list, an article page, categories, authors, tags, comments and a breaking strip. canvas is a shop, and also the most general of the bought designs. linka is a magazine. porto is a corporate site and a business directory. The default is ours, and it is the only one that draws every component the platform has.
A design declares what it cannot do
Each one says which families of component it can draw and which settings it will ignore, so the panel never offers you a control that would do nothing. If a design has no arrangement for a component, the panel does not offer that component on it — which is the only way to stop a page that answers correctly and shows nothing.
Changing design keeps your arrangement
A page holds a component by name, not by a link into the design, so changing a section from one design to another keeps every placement and every setting. What changes is how they are drawn.
